The Government of Canada remains committed to empowering seniors across Canada so they can contribute
to and share in the prosperity of the country.
Seniors in Frankford will receive financial support to acquire equipment to get their project off the ground, announced Neil Ellis, Member of Parliament for Bay of Quinte, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.
The New Horizons for Seniors Program promotes positive aging by supporting seniors’ volunteerism and
encouraging seniors to play an active role in their communities. This innovative program enhances seniors’
social well-being and enables them to maintain social ties and share their knowledge, skills and experience with
others.
Frankford United Church is receiving $20,000 for their project funded through the New Horizons for Seniors
Program (NHSP). The project will help many seniors in the Bay of Quinte by facilitating the purchase of new
equipment. This will allow Frankford United Church to maintain and offer more activities for seniors, such as
luncheons, dinners, and other community meetings.
