Quinte West Council has a person in mind to fill the seat of Rob McIntosh, who left council, to take on a position with the Trent Port Marina.
Garry Quinn finished behind McIntosh in voting in the last election and after officially declaring McIntosh’s seat vacant, councillors decided Tuesday that Quinn should take over the spot.
Mayor Jim Harrison tells Quinte News it makes sense to add a new body to council, with more than half a year to go, until the October election.
Harrison says Quinn, who is involved with OurTMH and other local initiatives has expressed interest in taking on the role and will be officially acclaimed at the next meeting on March 5th.
