Belleville council will decide on a contractor to do a major expansion of its public transit building when it meets this afternoon.
City staff is recommending the tender from the only qualified bidder, Gay Company Ltd. out of Courtice, be accepted. Gay Company’s tender came in at one million, 347 thousand dollars plus HST.
The project involves a 6,000 square foot expansion to the Belleville Transit building at 400 Coleman Street and will allow all buses in the fleet to be stored indoors.
Council had earlier set aside 2.3 million dollars for the project.
