The City of Quinte West, and the Trenton Golden Hawks are setting their sights on not only the country, but the world.
As heard this weekend on Need-A-Car Trenton Golden Hawks Hockey, Director of Business for the G-Hawks John McDonald announced, that they’re going after two major events over the next three years.
He says the first is a bid for the World Junior A Challenge.
2019 is the target bid.
McDonald says this would be showcasing the City of Quinte West, the entire region and the fans of the Trenton Golden Hawks.
McDonald says he has talked with Facilities Manager Bob Forder and Mayor Jim Harrison who are throwing their support behind it.
The municipality and the team are also planning on making a bid for the 2021 RBC Cup, the National Junior A championship.
