A Marmora and Lake artist has joined a Ducks Unlimited Canada campaign to raise funds for wetland conservation.
The painting by Ron Plaizier, Gatekeeper – Barn Owl, is one of 11 submissions from artists across Canada in the Ducks Unlimited Canada 2018 National Art Portfolio.
Plaizier joins other Canadian nature artists featured in Ducks Unlimited Canada’s 2018 National Art Portfolio.
Paintings selected for National Art Portfolio are made into high-quality prints for use in fundraising initiatives. Ducks Unlimited says money raised supports the organization’s wetland conservation work, scientific research, and education programs.
In a released comment, Plaizier stated, “The inspiration behind this composition was to illustrate the connection and the delicate balance between wildlife and human development and the important role we play in conservation.”
