It appears Trenton is one of just a handful of sites still being considered for a Centre of Excellence on PTSD.
Quinte News reached out to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs to see if a decision had been made on a location for the centre.
Press Secretary Alex Wellstead says they are not necessarily looking at a brick and mortar site, but more of a virtual network, to meet the needs of veterans coast to coast.
Wellstead says Trenton is one of a half dozen sites still under consideration.
He says Trenton has shown great interest, but also has lots of experience supporting veterans.
Trenton, Toronto, Ottawa and Victoria were named by Wellstead as some of the sites still under consideration.
Veterans Affairs hopes to have a decision come spring.
It has been rumoured the location could be part of a new health hub adjacent to Trenton Memorial Hospital.
