Council in Northumberland County approved the 2018 budget today (Wed).
The $124 million budget sees a levy increase of 1.9 per cent.
Warden Mark Lovshin says the budget responds to Council’s target levy increase of two per cent or less while ensuring that they continue to deliver essential services and fulfill key actions in their Strategic Plan.
Highlights from the 2018 budget include: construction of a transfer station for organic (‘green bin’) materials in advance of 2019 expansion of waste collection program, the launch of design process for a new Trent River crossing in Campbellford and the acquisition of design and architectural services for the rebuild of the Golden Plough Lodge long term care home.
