A car crash has led to break and enter charges for one man say Central Hastings OPP.
Police say early Sunday morning, officers were called to a single motor vehicle accident in the village.
Their investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen and was linked to five break and enters in the early morning hours.
Another vehicle was taken from a home in the township and it was also involved in a break and enter at a home in Tweed. That vehicle was also involved in an accident on Highway 7.
The highway was closed while police conducted a search. The suspect was found hiding under a tree nearby.
Twenty-two-year-old John McKenna of Kingston is facing charges of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, fail to comply with probation order, break enter to a dwelling, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, break and enter a place and theft of motor vehicle.
He appeared in court in Belleville today.
