Police are reminding drivers to slow down in bad weather after Napanee OPP responded to 22 vehicle collisions in a 24 hour period.
Police say there were four tractor trailers in the ditch or obstructing the highway in a two hour time period.
The highway was closed eastbound in Tyendinaga to allow police to remove the transport blocking the roadway. There was also another transport east of that in the ditch and another east of that.
Following the re-opening of the highway, officers stopped a female driver from Toronto going 137 km/h. She was stopped minutes later after being clocked at 135 km/h.
In 2017, officers with the Napanee Detachment of the OPP laid a total of 8,840 tickets on local roadways including Highway 401.
