Quinte West council will decide whether or not to buy a Quench Buggy to provide cold drinking water at community events at its meeting tonight.
The Quench Buggy encourages people to use refillable water bottles at events instead of drinking from disposable plastic bottles that end up taking up space in landfills.
Belleville council recently decided to purchase a Quench Buggy for its events.
The buggy would also be useful during boil water advisories.
The cost is around $45,000.
Quinte West council meets tonight at 6:30 at city hall.
