The Trenton Golden Hawks needed to dig down deep to earn themselves a victory against a top team Saturday night and they did just that in a 3-2 overtime road win over the Aurora Tigers.
Caleb Boman led the G-Hawks offence with a goal and an assist, including the game-winning tally just 29 seconds into the extra period on a powerplay.
Mac Lewis and Max Ewart also scored for Trenton and Cal Walker assisted on Boman’s winner.
Will Rawski was the key in net, stopping 29 of 31 shots in net for the win. The G-Hawks only mustered 14 chances of their own.
Trenton ups their point streak to five games with the win and will do a quick turnaround to play the Whitby Fury on New Year’s Eve Sunday afternoon at 2:10 p.m.
