It was seriously cold yesterday, but we couldn’t get down enough to set a new low temperature record in the Quinte region.
According to Environment Canada, from readings taken at CFB Trenton, the mercury dipped to minus 28.8 degrees celsius yesterday.
The record low for a December 27 remains at minus 31.8 degrees, set during a cold snap in 1993.
The record low for this date, December 28, is minus 27.6, also set in 1993.
The normal low for this time of year in our area is near minus 11.
