We’re definitely in a cold snap as we close out 2017.
The low temperature in the Quinte region as measured at CFB Trenton for Boxing Day was minus 24.2 degrees celsius.
That’s cold but not cold enough to beat the record low for a December 26 in this region. That was minus 27.3 degrees set in in 1993.
It’s unlikely we’ll set a temperature record today either. The coldest December 27 in the Quinte region was also in 1993 when the mercury plunged to a bone-chilling minus 31.8 degrees.
