Provincial Police are reminding you that just because two people agree to a fight, it doesn’t make it OK and charges can still be laid.
The Napanee detachment is putting out the reminder as it continues to investigate a number of “consent fights” that are organized through social media and internet websites, with those fights sometimes being video-taped and watched by onlookers in person.
Authorities want parents, potential participants or fight organizers, and even bystanders, to know that a fight resulting in injuries could lead to charges against any of those groups.
Police also say anyone who knows of a possible fight that’s being planned, or is happening, should contact them.
