For a number of players on the Belleville Senators, Saturday night marked their first visit back to Binghamton, N.Y. since the relocation of the AHL organization at the end of last season.
Unfortunately for the B-Sens as a whole, they weren’t able to earn a positive result, as they fell 5-2 to the host Devils.
Captain Mike Blunden tied the game with his first of the season at 14 minutes of the third period, before the Devils struck for back-to-back goals, all in the span of 38 seconds to burn the Sens.
Blunden, who played in 67 games in Binghamton last season, says the return to the city he once called home was special.
Gabriel Gagne added the other Belleville goal and Chris Dreidger stopped 22 of 27 shots in net.
The Senators are in action again Wednesday night in Rochester against the Americans. Game time is 7:05 p.m, CJBQ has the broadcast for Eastern Overhead Doors and Deerhaven Farm & Garden starting at 6:50 p.m.
