Although it is a place you never want to have to visit, residents will be glad it is there.
On Tuesday afternoon at Belleville General Hospital, dignitaries, QHC staff and residents were on hand to officially open the second stage on the Dr. Douglas MacIntosh Oncology Clinic for QHC.
It is located on the fourth floor of the Sills Wing and expands the current clinic (3rd floor of main building of BGH), by 3,800 square feet.
Former oncology patient Bob Leonard could not say enough good things about the clinic and the staff.
Dr. Douglas MacIntosh says he is speechless.
Dr. MacIntosh began the Oncology Clinic at BGH in 1972, in the Emergency Department at Belleville General. There are now three physicians, along with other medical professionals who help out in the clinic five days a week.

Quinte Health Care CEO Mary Clare Egberts says the second stage of the MacIntosh Clinic will allow QHC to treat more patients closer to home.
