Members of the OPP may be getting behind the wheel of big rigs in the area, but for good reason.
Across the province, and local detachments in the Quinte region, a new program is being launched called Operation Safe Trucking.
Officers will be in transport trucks, giving them a better vantage point on truckers who may be distracted, or doing other dangerous behaviours behind the wheel.
Over the five-day blitz, officers are going to be looking for drivers using phones or other electronic devices, engaging in aggressive or impaired driving, speeding or following too closely.
They will be also looking at other drivers in cars, and all vehicles.
