If Belleville council approves, riders on the city’s transit system will be enjoying an exciting new experience boarding the buses.
Belleville Transit staff is recommending council buy 17 new state of the art Canadian Odyssey fareboxes at a cost of $485,000.
Council had budgeted $500,000 for the project. Half of the cost would be paid by the federal government.
The new fareboxes can produce electronic tickets, provide real time location and mapping and feature a large interactive display for passengers.
