A tight battle in a tough building didn’t go the way of the Belleville Senators last night.
They earned a point, but came up just short in a 5-4 shootout defeat to the Syracuse Crunch.
Chris DiDomenico notched a goal and an assist in his return to the Belleville lineup after being picked back up off waivers by the parent Ottawa Senators.
His linemate Nick Paul also added a goal and a helper and says it’s good to get his first tally of the season despite the loss.
B-Sens head coach Kurt Kleinendorst had an encouraging message for his team in the second intermission after they only recorded seven shots in the first two periods.
Filip Chlapik and Colin White added the other goals for Belleville, Christian Jaros recorded two assists and Andrew Hammond stopped 28 shots in net in other notable performances.
The B-Sens and Crunch are back at it again next Saturday at the Yardmen Arena. Game time 7 p.m., CJBQ has the broadcast starting at 6:50 p.m.
