A well-known local journalist is speaking out about losing his job, and the state of news in 2017.
Chris Malette joined the Lorne Brooker Show Thursday, where the two discussed the recent cuts by Post Media, which included his job.
Malette believes that news is needed to help people stay accountable, but fewer people are going to physical print.
He adds that in ten years, Belleville and Kingston may not have daily papers.
Malette believes the “writing is on the wall nationally” for newspapers too.
