The Belleville Senators played a strong road game against one of the best teams in the American Hockey League.
Unfortunately, it was only enough to earn a single point in a 2-1 shootout defeat to the Toronto Marlies.
The B-Sens got a second period goal from forward Filip Chlapik, with Max Reinhart earning the lone assist.
The Czech Republic-born Chlapik says he’s relieved to finally score after going over three weeks without a tally.
B-Sens head coach Kurt Kleinendorst says he’s proud of his team’s efforts against such a strong opposing team.
Goaltender Danny Taylor turned aside 30 shots in the loss.
Both teams are back at it against each other today at Ricoh Coliseum. Game time is 4 p.m., broadcast time 3:50 on CJBQ with Jack Miller.
