With a month to go until Christmas, OPP detachments across the region are kicking off Festive RIDE Campaigns, including in Centre Hastings.
Increased patrols and drunk driving check points will be noticable throughout the region, right through until January 6, 2018.
The OPP is reminding drivers that if you get tested with a blood alcohol concentration higher than 80 milligrams, or fail or refuse to provide a breath sample, your license will be suspended and the car you’re driving will be impounded.
Drivers who are under 22 years-old will have their license suspended immediately, if their BAC is over zero, regardless of the class of license they hold.
And anyone with a BAC between 0.05 to 0.08 will have a three day suspension for reigstering a “warn” on a roadside screening device.
Officers will also be handing out “Give the Gift of Life” blood donor cards, encouraging everyone to donate blood.
