Two men from the Quinte Region have received some national recognition at Rideau Hall for acts of bravery.
James Badgley and Calvin Stein were both awarded the Medal of Bravery by Governor General Julie Payette Friday.
Badgley was recognized for rescuing a man from a burning home in Belleville, in October of 2015, following an explosion caused by a damaged gas line, while SteinĀ saved a three year-old girl from being trampled by a team of charging horses in Tweed, in July of 2016.
The Decorations of Bravery were created by Queen Elizabeth II in 1972 and are awarded to people who risk their lives to try to save, or protect others and also include the Cross of Valour and the Star of Courage.
