A local business owner says he is blown away at the community support, following a fundraiser for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Earlier this year, Leon’s Superstore Trenton launched a program call Buy-a-Bed.
The goal was to purchase four beds for Trenton Memorial Hospital, through TMHF. Every mattress purchase over $299, Leon’s would donate $25 to TMHF
Thursday morning, Leon’s and the hospital foundation announced the completion of the program and the store handed over a cheque for $32,000, enough to buy four beds for the hospital.
Leon’s owner Mike Eden tells Quinte News he is amazed how the community came together.
He says they have never announced their company’s charitable element before, however with the success of the campaign, they will look at doing it again.
Wendy Warner, Executive Director of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation says Leon’s has become a wonderful supporter and community partner.
