A Belleville Police officer’s discovery of a damaged vehicle in the city led to the arrest of a driver.
Early Sunday morning, around 2 a.m, the officer was driving on Pinnacle Street, near Station Street when he noticed the vehicle had gone over the median after an accident.
The female driver was attempting to drive away but was unable to, due to the heavy damage to the vehicle.
The officer arrested the woman. Police say breath samples taken at the station found her to be well over the legal limit.
Twenty-three-year-old Amanda McMullin of Quinte West is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with over 80 mg of alcohol in the blood.
McMullin was released on a promise to appear with a court date in December.
