A Marmora-based company, which provides stone products to architects, contractors and builders, has received a significant financial boost from the Eastern Ontario Development Program.
The Community Futures Development Corporation of North and Central Hastings-South Algonquin, has awarded $100,000 to Coloured Aggregates, to expand and improve its product line.
The money will be used to add a new computerized sorting system to the already state-of-the-art facility, which will allow for the addition of new products and the expansion of ones currently being developed.
The investment will also protect six jobs at the Marmora location, add two more positions and create extended local economic spinoff, with local contractors being used to construct and install the new equipment.
Coloured Aggregates has been around since 1972 and also has a location in Aurora, north of Toronto, supplying various types and colours of minerals, crushed aggregates and sand.
