“I want to make one thing perfectly clear, the health services hub is not an OurTMH against CHC issue.”
So said the Chair of the citizens advocacy group OurTMH Mike Cowan at tonight’s (Wednesday) Annual General Meeting.
He was referring to the discussion surrounding the location of a health hub. It will either be located in downtown Trenton where the Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre is now or right across from Trenton Memorial Hospital. A decision on the location is expected soon.
“The CHC is a crucial medical service for our community. OurTMH supports CHC wholeheartedly. Why we want it next to the hospital is simply because there’s more room for the hub there. Our fear is that the hub will be very successful and will simply outgrow the downtown location, and soon.”
