It was a scary scene on Catherine Street in Belleville’s west end last night.
Police received reports of a man on the street waving a knife just after 8 o’clock.
Officers quickly found a suspect and arrested him.
A 32 year old Belleville resident was charged with weapons offences and breach of probation.
He is in for a bail hearing today.
