G-Hawks pull out overtime win
Two Trenton Golden Hawks – Shaun Bily and James Povall – were difference makers in a 3-2 overtime win on home ice over the Aurora Tigers.
Bily scored the game winner with 27 seconds remaining in overtime and Povall turned away 43 shots between the pipes in a brilliant showing.
Other G-Hawks goals went to Max Ewart and Tiger McDonald, his first in a Trenton uniform.
Mac Lewis and Caleb Boman each assisted on two Trenton goals, Steven Elliott and Michael Silveri also recorded helpers.
Trenton is off for a week until next Friday, when they visit Pickering for a 7:30 p.m. start.
Dukes deadlocked with Newmarket
For the second straight Friday night, 70 minutes of hockey in the County didn’t produce a winner, as the Wellington Dukes skated to a 4-4 tie with the Newmarket Hurricanes.
Geoff Lawson, Ben Evans, Mitchell Martan and Eric Uba all scored for the Dukes. Another standout performance went to Declan Carlile with two assists.
Jonah Capriotti made 31 saves in net.
The Dukes are on the road Saturday night in Aurora to take on the Tigers.
Raiders blank Pirates
The Napanee Raiders outshot the Picton Pirates 40-19 in a 5-0 victory.
Austin Labelle scored twice, Riley Steeves and Ryan Casselman each notched a goal and an assist.
Jeremy Piazzi earned the shutout for Napanee.
