“We’d rather be out in the cold together than out in the cold alone.”
Those words from OPSEU Local 420 President Eric Bauer in advance of the rally to be held at Loyalist College at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The rally at the main entrance is being held in advance of next week’s vote by the union on Monday’s offer.
Bauer says he hopes the rally will help clear up any questions as he says the strike has been a very confusing process.
Teachers and support staff at 24 Ontario colleges have been on strike for four weeks now and Bauer says the mark in which the semester could be a complete loss is very rapidly approaching.
He says the rally was an impromptu idea but is quite enthusiastic about it.
Bauer is also asking those who attend to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Food Bank.
