There were smiles all around on Tuesday morning at the Brighton Family Health Team office.
Northumberland-Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi was on hand to make a funding announcement for the Family Health Team that expects to see their patient list increase to almost 14,000 before the end of the year.
He says this investment continues to support a full circle approach to health care and will increase access to services for the entire community.
The Brighton Quinte West Family Health Team will receive $270,154 in additional base funding as well as one time funding of over $28,000.
Executive Director Wendy Parker says this is great news for the Family Health Team.
Prior to the increase in base funding, the Family Health Team had a budget of $1,048,000.
When the Brighton Quinte West Family Health Team was first started in 2006 they had two doctors. They have now expanded to 12 physicians over their three sites.
