A 16-year-old boy from the Roseneath area faces serious charges after an off-duty Northumberland OPP officer suffered minor injuries after being dragged by a vehicle north of Cobourg last Wednesday.
The officer had noticed a suspicious vehicle in a driveway and decided to investigate.
Four youths ran out from a backyard and jumped into a white Cadillac.
The officer approached the vehicle to speak to the occupants, but it took off, dragging him the length of the driveway.
Later, it was discovered that a trailer in the backyard had been ransacked.
On Friday, a 16-year-old youth turned himelf in to the Cobourg Police Service.
He was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, taking a motor vehicle without consent and mischief under $5,000.
OPP are still investigating.
