A popular program at Quinte Conservation is back for 2017.
The Adopt an Acre program will help support a new water monitoring and research facility at Quinte Conservation this year.
QC General Manager Terry Murphy says that, due to climate change, it is now “necessary” to have a facility like this to ensure a healthy environment for future generations.
For $25, donors will receive an adoption certificate in the name of a person who is interested in supporting an environmental cause.
Also, when people adopt two or more acres, they have the choice of a plush chipmunk, fox or cardinal as a thank you for the donation.
The goal for Quinte Conservation is to adopt 250 acres. Last year, the program raised just over $6,000 for various needs.
