A quick response from Prince Edward County firefighters kept a house from being destroyed by fire
this morning.
Flames were reported in the basement of a house at 942 Christian Road around 9 o’clock.
The occupants of the bungalow escaped safely.
The flames were confined to just the basement but the rest of the house sustained some smoke and water damage.
The cause is under investigation.
Christian Road is a few kilometres north of Wellington, west of Highway 62. Personnel and equipment from three fire halls responded.
