The Ontario Junior Hockey League leading Wellington Dukes couldn’t hang on to a lead last night, until they couldn’t give it up. Teddy McGeen scored 1:53 into overtime as the Dukes defeated Pickering 4-3. It was Wellington’s 4th lead of the night. Coach Scott McCrory.
Andrew Rinaldi, Mitchell Martan and Jackson Arcan also scored for Wellington. The Dukes won two out of three games over the weekend.
The Dukes improve to 14-3-1-4. They host Whitby on Friday.
In Junior “C” Hockey, the first place Napanee Raiders hammered Amherstview 7-2. Riley Steeves had 2 goals and an assist. Ryan Casselman had a 5 points game including a goal.
And the Campbellford Rebels fell to Gananoque 5-4. Mike Chambers scored twice in the loss.
