Another night, another win in extra time for the Belleville Senators in the Manitoba capital.
Filip Chlapik scored less than a minute into the overtime period for his first goal in professional hockey as the B-Sens defeated the Manitoba Moose 3-2.
It was Belleville’s second straight win in Winnipeg following a 4-3 shootout victory Friday night.
After the game, Chlapik admitted that his winning goal was quite satisfying following a few close chances.
Ben Sexton and Gabriel Gagne also tallied for the B-Sens, who fell behind 2-0 after the first period, but clawed their way back.
Danny Taylor stopped 37 of 39 shots in net for the win.
The UK-born, Kingston, Ont. raised netminder says the plan following the early deficit was to not get discouraged.
