G-Hawks win in thrilling fashion
Max Ewart’s dramatic breakaway goal with 44 seconds remaining in regulation time proved to be the difference in a 3-2 Trenton Golden Hawks win over the Pickering Panthers.
Mark Tassone had his first goal as a G-Hawk and Caleb Boman added the other tally.
Carson Poulin stood tall in net, making 38 saves for the victory.
Trenton is off for almost a week before hosting the Kingston Voyageurs Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Dukes fall in Georgetown
Despite a 45-save performance from goaltender Jonah Capriotti, the Wellington Dukes weren’t able to overcome a late Georgetown Raiders surge and lost 5-2 on the road.
Mason Snell scored his first goal as a Duke and Ben Evans also scratched the scoresheet, both coming on the powerplay.
Final shots favoured Georgetown 50-32.
The Dukes finish their weekend road trip with a stop in Pickering Sunday evening. CJBQ has the broadcast for Prinzen Ford Sales starting at 6:20 with David Foot.
More pain for Rebels
The Campbellford Rebels continue to search for a win following an 11-1 thrashing at the hands of the Amherstview Jets.
Josh Henderson notched Campbellford’s only goal.
