The County Community Foundation, better known as The County Foundation, is doing good work in Prince Edward County.
Tomorrow afternoon (Thursday), county council’s Committee of the Whole will hear a presentation by the President of the Foundation Brian Beiles.
The County Foundation was formed eight years ago.
Since its inception, it has granted over half a million dollars to various charitable organizations in the county.
In the past year, over $100,000 has been donated.
The County Foundation provides money to organizations involved in three core areas. Those are learning, food security, and transportation.
The Foundation has received a number of bequests and manages 20 endowment and other funds to support chosen charities.
Planned giving to the Foundation is increasing and a new fund will be announced next year.
