Black legged ticks are prevalent in Prince Edward County but there are now reports of many of the creatures in the Tweed area as well.
Hastings Prince Edward health unit environmental officer Apte Sookoo, says there will be ticks wherever there are deer.
Sookoo says the health unit undertakes surveillance programs, tracking the ticks.
Recent tracking in the Tweed area found 25 ticks, not all of them carrying Lyme Disease.
Sookoo says people who find ticks on themselves may bring them to the health unit to help with that tracking.
