The Hastings Prince Edward District Board is now in a wait and see situation, after they submitted their business cases for three new school builds.
Last month, the board applied to the province for a new school for kindergarten to grade 12 in Centre Hastings, a new high school in east end Belleville, and a new elementary school in Belleville for Quinte Victoria and Queen Elizabeth students.
Plan B is to get renovations at the Queen Elizabeth site, along with upgrades to Centre Hastings and Moira Secondary.
Superintendent of Business Nick Pfeiffer says they are optimistic about getting them all.
A typical secondary school is about $32 million to build, an elementary school $12 million.
Pfeiffer says they will likely hear early in the new year if they are successful.
