It has been some big highs and emotional rides for Trenton Golden Hawks Coach and GM Marty Abrams recently.
Since coming over from the Wellington Dukes in the off season, Abrams has been coaching a team, which not only had back-to-back Dudley Hewitt Cups, but some major expectations from fans.
Earlier this month, Abrams picked up his 700th win as a coach in the OJHL.
Sunday afternoon was one he had circled on his calendar, as he went back to his hometown Wellington, to go behind the visitors’ bench for the very first time.
Prior to the game, his former team held an on-ice ceremony for their former coach, who brought the team to the RBC twice and a Dudley Hewitt Cup final.
His G-Hawks scored a 5-3 win over Wellington, the top team in the OJHL.
Max Ewart scored a pair and added an assist, while Zach Senecal had three helpers.
Andrew Rinaldi had a pair for the Dukes.
The G-Hawks welcome Lindsay on Wednesday, while the Muskies host the Dukes Friday night.
