The recent Give Where You Live fundraising campaign in Belleville went way over the top.
Organizers of the event, involving a police-community partnership, were aiming for $10,000 to support Camp Trillium, but spokesman Constable Jeremy Ashley says they “blew us right out of the water” doubling that to $20,000 for the camp.
He says 18 Belleville and OPP officers participated, cycling from school to school.
Ashley says there may be another Give Where You Live event in the spring, visiting some of the schools missed this fall.
