Golden Hawks pound Spirit
Rex Moe and Michael Silveri each found the back of the net twice for the Trenton Golden Hawks in a 7-2 win over the Stouffville Spirit Friday night.
Other goals in the dominant effort came from Caleb Boman, Gage Stephney and Max Ewart. Mac Lewis recorded three assists and Brandon Marinelli added a pair of helpers.
Other assists went to Moe, Ryan Brown, Cal Walker, Jonathan Pace and Jake Behse.
Goaltender Will Rawski made 27 saves for the win, Trenton’s third in a row. Shots favoured Trenton 36-29.
Trenton will head across the border to Buffalo to take on the Junior Sabres Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
Dukes dominate, squeak out one-goal win
Despite outshooting the Mississauga Chargers 50-17, it took a late third period goal for the Wellington Dukes to slip by in a 1-0 win.
Mitchell Mendonca had the Dukes only goal with six minutes to play in regulation time, assisted by Mitchell Martan.
Jonah Capriotti picked up the shutout in a 17-save effort.
The Dukes have a short turnaround before they play in Aurora Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. versus the Tigers.
Raiders defeat Amherstview
Ryan Casselman’s two goals staked the Napanee Raiders to a 3-1 win at home over the Amherstview Jets.
Griffen Conger added the other Napanee goal. Former Wellington Duke Brodie Maracle chipped in with an assist.
Nicholas Nabuurs had 27 saves in the win.
Final shots: 38-28 for Napanee.
