The Hastings County Historical Society is paying tribute to the Bay of Quinte’s big band orchestra, The Commodores, at its annual fundraising dinner this year.
The Commodores band was formed in 1928 and is celebrating its 90th birthday.
Historical Society spokesman Orland French says the band has played through the last of the Roaring Twenties, through the Depression, the war years, and Ontario’s economic boom.
Bandleader Andy Sparling and the band will be at the Society’s annual dinner at the National Air Force Museum, October 28.
DANCE BAND
French says he expects some dancing to break out before the night is over.
