The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte will benefit from federal and provincial government water and sewer investments on First Nations.
Yesterday, it was announced that millions of dollars will be invested in 235 projects on 116 First Nations in Ontario.
$68,000 will go to the Tyendinaga Territory for improvements to the Huron Brant Pumping Station, and another $16,000 will help pay for the design of the Bell’s Road watermain extension.
The federal government will pay up to 50% of the cost of the projects, the provincial government up to 25%, with First Nations councils paying the rest.
The money comes from the Canada-Ontario Clean Water and Wastewater Program.
