The Quinte Mall could be in for some big changes now that an anchor store is expected to close.
On Tuesday Sears announced it would be closing its stores, including the retail operation in Belleville.
Meantime, Toys R Us stores in Canada and the United States are under Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection.
Retail expert John Marino of Marino Investments tells the Lorne Brooker Show, vacant sites will see a resurgence for something else.
He says it will take a while, but the mall is the best shopping centre in the region.
