When the weekend began, the Belleville Senators had too many defencemen. Today they don’t have enough.
The Ottawa Senators have recalled Thomas Chabot and Christian Jaros from Belleville because of injuries to Erik Karlsson, Johnny Oduya and Ben Harpur. Harpur was recalled from Belleville on Friday and suffered an upper body injury Saturday against Detroit. He has been placed on the Sens’ injured reserve list.
Chabot scored the first goal in Belleville’s AHL franchise history on Saturday night in a 6-2 loss in Laval. Chabot also had an assist.
In a related move, the B-Sens have recalled defenceman Macoy Erkamps from the ECHL’s Brampton Beast.
Belleville is 0-2 to start the AHL season. They play in Syracuse on Friday and Hershey on Saturday.
