An old abandoned barn lies in a smouldering pile at 2459 Highway 49

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will be involved in trying to find the cause of a fire that destroyed an old abandoned barn in Prince Edward County early this morning.
Firefighters arrived to find the small, empty barn fully engulfed in flames shortly after 2 o’clock this morning.
The derelict property is along Highway 49, north of Bethesda Road.
Firefighters managed to keep the windblown flames away from another abandoned barn nearby.
The cause is unknown but suspicious, and a four door beige or taupe sedan was seen in the area of the property several times previous to the fire starting.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
