Belleville council will be asked to give developers more time to work through a complex, but major residential/commercial project at its meeting Tuesday afternoon.
In 2014, city council granted Toronto area company, East Marina Investments, draft plan of subdivision approval for the construction of three 15 storey condominium buildings along with commercial space on land formerly known as the Morch Marine property, near the Travelodge.
In total, there would be 302 residential units.
A 200 slip marina and and public space is also part of the proposal.
The developers, and local firm, RFA Planning Consulting, continue to study and provide solutions to potential flooding, environmental, and noise concerns on the property.
They are asking council to extend the draft plan approval for another 3 year term.
Belleville council meets Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at city hall.
