Prince Edward OPP charged an impaired driver following a minor collision and a disturbance Sunday evening.
Around 6 p.m. yesterday, officers were dispatched to County Road 12 near Westlake for a traffic complaint where a cyclist reported his bicycle had been grazed by the side mirror of a passing vehicle. The cyclist was not hurt in that incident. While responding to the bicycle incident, the officers were dispatched to a disturbance call at a County Rd 12 residence.
At the scene, the investigating officers discovered a family dispute had occurred. A person involved had just arrived home and was the driver of the vehicle that had come in contact with the bicycle moments earlier.
30-year old Samuel Bain of Hallowell Ward has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operate Over 80mgs and Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident.
